Mohammed bin Ali Al-Abbar, A well-known Emirati pioneer.
He was born in 1956 and joined Seattle University in U.S.A, he obtained a bachelor’s degree with excellence in business administration in 1981.
After that he held many honorary positions in the Dubai City Government.
He was assigned there to work as an official for managing the financial and investment aspects of the state in Singapore.
When he returned from Singapore, he got a prestigious position within DUBAL (Dubai Aluminum Limited) and served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He held many positions throughout his life, including Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the largest Dubai commercial centers.
Emaar Real Estate Company was established in 1997 by businessman Mohammed bin Ali Al-Abbar, as a joint stock company in the United Arab Emirates.
Emaar was initially owned by the government of Dubai with shares of about 100%, while the shareholders owned only 24% of the company’s shares.
In 2000, the company began to be famous in the real estate market in Dubai, and then offered the shares to foreign nationals.
In 2001, Emaar started its first residential projects, it consisted of 3 towers.
In 2003, the company began the largest real estate project known as (Downtown Dubai), which was the construction of the tallest tower in the world (Burj Khalifa), in addition to the largest shopping mall in Dubai (Dubai Commercial Mall).
In 2004, Emaar launched the International Company,they started establishing many residential and recreational projects in Asia and Africa.
In 2005, Emaar started building resorts and hotels, then launched the most luxurious hotels in the Middle East.
Emaar continued to develop various local and international projects, the company profited pf their projects, their investments in 2014 amounted to 11.4 billion dollars.
In 2021, Emaar won the Guinness World Records award for the longest swimming pool in the world, which was known as (the Beach Resort Project).
In 2019, Emaar won the World Retail Awards for the best customer experience.
In the same year, they won the World Travel Awards for (the downtown project), which is the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall projects.
